the patio apartment

Only recently this Central Amsterdam apartment has been restored. The numerous old elements dating from 1650 give it a cosy and warm atmosphere. This apartment is situated in the quiet rear house on the groundfloor and souterrain. When you enter the apartment the first thing you notice is the beautiful marble floor, like a painting of Vermeer, and the huge beams. Between the livingroom and the old summer kitchen is a lovely patio. The souterrain has a bathroom with two basins and a shower and a big bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe.

The enormous beams and wood construction in the souterrain reveal the history of the house and explains why this house is in such good condition, even after 350 years. In the souterrain and the kitchen you will find the 'old white' and Delfts Blue tiles.

If you are travelling with a group of people, you may wish to rent this apartment in combination with the Roof Terrace Apartment or the Guestroom.

the apartment

There is a private entrance. The living room has a tv, a dvd/cd player and an internet access point. There are books to read and a few dvd's to watch. In the living room are two futon chairs which can be converted into two single beds or one double bed.

The kitchen has everything you need, like a microwave oven, a dishwasher, coffee-maker, electric kettle and a toaster.

The souterrain itself has a shower with two sinks in it. The toilet is on the ground floor. From the bedroom or when sleeping in the living room you can use the bathroom or toilet without disturbing the privacy of the other bedroom.

In the apartment you will find the washer and dryer. A hairdryer is provided, as are towels and bed linen.

The big bedroom in the souterrain has two boxspring beds. These two beds can be used as either one double or two singles. Since the bedroom is quite large an extra single bed can be placed in this room on request.

internet access, smoking & pets

There is an internet access (ADSL) available, free of charge. Smoking is permitted in the Patio Apartments, however, pets are not allowed.
